Happy First Anniversary to me on Medium.

I was only scrolling through my status one lonely afternoon and I opened Pharm. Racheal's story. I clicked on the app and read the amazing story she posted. "What a great app!" I thought.

Apparently, I have been looking for a place to pour out my thoughts outside my diary, somewhere to flex my hands.

My first story here was a poem, "A Love Letter 💌 to Him" - a thought that escaped my mind. Truth be told, I was not expecting anyone to read it.

Until someone said "I heard you write, can I see something you wrote?"
I looked up and down, and then I shared the link with him. "Hmm! fine girl wey loves Jesus", I could hear him say "Mama!" in his mind when he got to the part where I wrote:

  • "Your kiss on my lips,
    Your body near mine,
    The stroke of your touch,
    Makes everything feel fine."

I had to quickly clarify, "It's a fiction, the poem escaped from my thoughts", he smiled and said it was fine.

I heard a thousand and one thoughts running through my mind, how many people do I have to explain to, that the abundance of my heart can be very romantic and the opposite of my personality but I kept writing .

I pushed and wrote other stories with very few people reading and claps from my friends.
I was not bothered about growing my account.
I just wanted to be better at writing or perhaps give someone something to read at their leisure time.

While getting better at it, I made up my mind to read stories and write-ups from 10 different writers per day on medium. Some days I’m left speechless, like, _"God! Ah! People dey write."_ My jaw dropped. How can one be able to transport their thoughts into writing and leave us with a perfect picture of what they are passing across?

I enjoyed every time I spent on medium writing and reading other people's works.
Then emails started coming with messages like: "Your audience is growing", "Two people started following you", and "Someone clapped or commented on your stories", I smiled at the sight of those mail.

I'd like to also mention some writers I enjoy reading their works, the likes of _Okuruesther, Oyinlola i, Excel ukpohor, oyinke-preye,_ and the famous _Oluchukwu_ and many others that I have read their stories and clapped but can't remember their pen name, your writings are exceptional.

My friend, who is always there to edit my work, dots the i's and crosses the t's. He ensures my write-ups are readable. Thank you always, Oluwadare T. Festus.

To everyone who has been reading and interacting, especially Bill, thank you for encouraging this growth.

Thank you medium! It's one year better.
Cheers 🍻🍻
